In two weeks I am moving my gf from WV to SC. I will be towing a 6'X12" Uhaul trailer. This is my first time towing with the 4runner and I wanted to know if using cruise control while towing is ok?
If it's downshifting too much, just drop it down a gear manually regardless of if you're on cruise or not. Maybe not the best for mileage, but it'll hold speed better save your tranny from hunting around excessively.boston_kevin said:If you are on a flat (aka level) surface for many miles in an area without too much traffic, you should be fine. Cruise control will maintain speed (or attempt to anyways) and will downshift to accomplish that task. Too much downshifting and you are putting unnecessary wear and tear on your tranny.
