More pics of the rear bumper...does Rocktec do a solution that can forgo the tire carrier - keep the stock location underneath?

He just got the truck last weekend ( I had to ship it to him) so I am not sure what it holds in store yet. I know that with his 4th gen bumper it would still fit a factory spare under the vehicle, but it would not fit a 285 because it hit the pan hard bar. I suspect the 5th will be the same, and I am sure he will offer it with or without a tire carrier.

Just got a call from Rocktek, he said someone showed him a pic of the CBI bumper, and it was pretty much exactly what he had in mind. So he told me to just buy a CBI, because he did not want to build something that looked close to it, he felt it would look bad on his company.

so it looks like a CBI is in my future.

Here is my first mod... truck is not even here yet, but i had some free time on my hands.

I drilled a recess in each knob and then epoxied the emblems in the knob. Then I sanded and buffed the knobs to finish them out....... (please no knob polishing jokes) lol

AHHHWWWW MAN!!!! ... I had like 5 ready by the time I got to the end of your post! LOL.

On a serious note, looking forward to seeing the finished build for this year!

Okki

How much did it cost to put this together?

How much did it cost to put this together?

$40 for knobs, $16 for pin/emblem and about another $10 for epoxy and buffing compound....... Oh, and about 4 hours of mind numbing tedious work. I am going to re-do a 4x4 knob, this one turned out okay, but it was silver and I painted it black, so I don't like the way it looks.

It's hard to find the Black FJ shifters for under 100 bucks BTW. I just happened to have one.

I posted this in my other thread for my SR5 build, so I figured i will post it here for this one.

I go the title today (small party in my head).

I REALLY want the 2014 TE but I love having no payments again. Plus I do not want to start over again on another 4Runner, my last 5 builds have been 4Runners and I think a 6th one may drive me nutz (more nuts).

Wife is really wanting me to sell her SR5 and get her the new highlander AWD..... I just don't think I'm ready to take such a huge loss on my 2013 yet.

Well The CBI bumper and Rigid lights are on, the only thing left to do is EVERYTHING.

I was pretty dissapointed that there was SOOOOOO much grinding involved on installing this bumper. It makes me wonder how the metal will react up here in the rust belt.

also i was missing the weather stripping that goes on the cut plastic, I should be able to handle that with just a phone call.

It's moving forward.

Today, Justin put on some of the parts we had in stock.
Toytec BOSS kit with 5125 rear shocks
Rocktek Shock mount armor
Rocktek control arm armor
Baja Roof Rack

He is currently working on his final production version of the 5th gen tube bumper.

Time started becoming an issue so I shipped a bunch of stuff to Rocktek in TX and had Justin do the installs.

Do you have any more info on the control arm armor? I was looking into making a set, but already made is better! I banged mine up pretty good last time I went wheeling.
