Toyo MT MPG?

Anyone running stock size Toyo MT and can tell me what MPG they are getting? Interested in these tires but worried the weight will dramatically hurt MPG. I know a couple of members have them...

I'd like to know that too but mine should be in tomorrow so I probably should've asked that last week.

I don't know the MPG since they are on my Jeep but they are heavy mo-fo's so my guess would be the MPG would SUCK!

Comparing your milage is not a good idea. Even comparing your own vehicle with you driving it one week and then letting someone else drive it over the same roads will not be identical. It will be much more accurate for you to just assume you will take a mpg hit. How much depends on if you want to change your driving style or not. Too many variables make this question unrealistic. Some of them are:

City vs. highway
Flat vs. mountains
Young driver vs. old
Money to burn vs. paycheck to paycheck
Proper maintenance (tire pressure) vs. no maintenance
Ethanol gas vs. no ethanol (10% change right there)
Heavy mods vs. no mods
Winter vs. summer
Heavy weight of normal cargo vs. single driver no cargo

and the list goes on. You and another person could have identical vehicles and get 40% difference in fuel economy! Asking for a number like this is sketchy. It could be close and it could be not close at all. Knowing this I will give you my best guess:

Best you will get: 23mpg.
Worst you will get: 11 mpg
Average: 17 mpg and that is my guess.

after switching from dunlop grandtreks to the toyo MT in the same stock size on my TE i have noticed about a 2 mpg loss. That is normal mixed driving in mostly flat area while doing my best to stay in the ECO light mode... But they look absolutely BA

Pay to play, man. At least your truck looks way more BA than those of us running on what is essentially a highway tire.

Thank you! How do they ride? where did you get? How is sound level?

Straight answer: They ride rough. Obviously an MT tire is going to be rougher and louder but the LT range makes for a stiff ride. You feel the road surface (and some aren't as smooth as they look). It rides more like a truck now as the stock tires are marketed for "the general public." However, it's not gonna "knock out your fillings" as they say.

The noise isn't as bad I was expecting. There is a hum but it is an MT not an AT. The tread design is a little tighter than some other MT's which offers a quieter than expected ride. It may come at a cost if off-roading in true mud, but everything is a trade off.

As for where purchased....well I had some connections at a tire shop so I was able to get them for $270 each.
