Toyota # 1 in the World!

Yes, Toyota has had some recent issues but the rag mags have blown them WAY out of proportion! A few bad camshafts on a brand new vehicle, PLEASE! These kinds of issues have happened many times before but now when Toyota is knocking off GM they are major reliability issues. Even the 4th gen 4Runner had a start up issue that had the vehicle rated bad. There is no difference between the quality of Toyota vehicles that were made several years ago then the current vehicles. The ONLY difference is the media has decided to try and help the domestic car makers because they are in SERIOUS trouble (which is understandable). The domestic car makers should have addressed this problem long time ago, but they sat on their hands and thought that brand loyalty would keep them on top. A good example of this is the pick-up line of vehicles. Ford is still in the mind set that brand loyalty will keep them #1. Yes, there is long way to go to change the market share on the pick-ups but this is the exact reason the domestics are now behind Toyota in global sales. Toyota has decided to seriously go after the best selling vehicle in the world (1/2 ton pick-up) which is the only vehicle that the domestics still have the largest market share. Whether you sheep want except it or not the Tundra is the BEST

Koz, what you said maybe true, BUT when was the last time that you heard a Toyota high executive admitting that quality has gone down??????? I have never heard that...have you?? What does this tell you?? Why is Toyota making a campaign to shape up it's current quality control???

So, MotorTrend and TruckTrend (both same company) picking Tundra is now your ONLY source of your claim?!! What a joke! And that "award" by MT is controversial too!

What happened to Car & Driver?? I don't see you mentioning anything about them. Or how about Consumer Reports?? The sad part is that YOU used to hate MotorTrend!

According to you in the past, the Tundra will overtake F150 very soon...and now, you're going back on your words ("long way")?? Come on Koz, STICK to what you say...otherwise, you will be perceived as being :FOS: Oh wait, most members already see that!

Just because I feel Toyota makes the best cars in the world, which is the way millions of other people feel, (and they have become the # 1 manufacture in the world) I have a fatal attraction type love affair. Thei - Show some facts instead of BS remarks and stop putting words in my mouth. You show me where I said the Tundra was going to knock off the F150 in short time. Why is it that when you don't have any facts you have to resort to insulting pictures. If your going post insulting pictures, at least let have the same opportunity. The fact is any company can get a rag mag to say that any vehicle is best. Every single rag mag has their own hidden agenda, including CR. I base my opinion on facts and the fact is Toyota is the number car maker in the world, they make several of the best selling vehicles in several classes and they make the best selling luxury line in this country. The fact is; there is a reason for this! They make a high quality, reliable car, period!

Facts? Professionalism?? Did you just learn that word, Koz?! From the beginning to now, you have not shown the capability to be fair nor to understand facts. You don't even know what transmission i have in my Sienna...YET, you still open your mouth and try to argue. You don't even know how percentages work in statistics...yet you still open your mouth. You don't even know anything about ES350/Camry transmission issues, yet you still open your mouth and argue pointlessly.

It is pretty clear that either you're ignorant of facts or lying through your teeth...i hope the latter. And Koz, it's not just me anymore that is getting tired of your BS.

I don't think that anyone is questioning Toyota's position in the world. FACTS are that a high Toyota exec has admitted that Toyota quality has slipped the past few years and Toyota is going back to basics to try and fix them. The Highlander is the first vehicle of this "back-to-basics" concept. NOT my words. What is not clear about this??? Tell me.

Consumer Reports, no matter how bias they are, have stated the same. REMEMBER, Consumer Reports has been one of Toyota BIGGEST supporter because they have notated EXCELLENT reliability on ALL Toyotas (new or old design) simply because of Toyota's reputation...until this year. So, how can fanboys like you be b!tching at CR when CR has been one of the biggest fanboy of Toyota quality????? Tell me.

Finally, sales figures mean very little when it comes to quality.

Ford and GM have been best sellers for a long time...and what do WE think of their quality?? Crap.

Ford Explorer was the best seller for many many years...and what do we think of it's quality??? Crap. Or i would not have created this forum for 4runner owners!
