LV4R: anyone highbeam check you on the road at night? How's the glare from the opposite side?

If that makes any sense. I think the reason for this is that the cutoff for oncoming traffic on the left side is actually lower than what is directly in front of you so less chance of blinding oncoming traffic. Also the passenger side of the vehicle has the cutoff a little higher which is great for road sign/pedestrian visibility. I am really happy with them! Coupled with the HIDs in the fogs its like daylight in front of the 4R.

I used these in-line splice connections that you push down onto the wires to connect the halos and LEDs to the running lights. Pretty simple and does not actually cut the wire.
Not sure if I mentioned this before but the heat from the halogens killed the 2 leds closest to the outside on each side that point forward. They can easily be changed though which is a good thing.

In line splice connection. Please excuse my ignorance but never heard of those. Seems to the trick if they work. If I were to get these lights I probably wouldn't even connect the 3 LED lights anyway. How does the quality of the lights appear to you?

um, nnyyyo, you failed to mention that. For those of us who can't get the HIDs right away, then maybe we'd be replacing LEDs every month...? Not good. standard 55w low beam halogens? (I use 65w myself normally)

Quality is up to par in my book. Nothing wrong with them yet except for the LEDs failing. The pic in the previous post is not working for whatever reason but here is a link to a website showing the connector I used:

Another plus to these headlights is that they can be taken apart easily. Metal connectors are used to hold the clear plastic to the housing with a gasket in between. For the hardcore offroaders though they will not hold up to submersion.

I will be replacing the burnt ones with some from superbrightleds.com in the near future. They are like 1.50 a piece so not goin to break the bank but could get annoying if they do have to be replaced all the time.

Those splices work great. They can be had at Radio Crap for cheap too... just make sure to get the correct size for the gauge wire you're using.
I hope that removing the breather hole caps won't introduce fogging on the inside of the housing though.
I don't know why one would want to take these housings apart, but those metal connectors certainly would help the task: I had to bake my OEM housings to remove the cover so I could paint the shrouds black.
I'd like to see the group buy price. And not some lame $10 off or free shipping bullshit: let's see a real deal.

I recently made a wiring harness from the following website so that the ballasts are not drawing power from the OEM harness. I recommend to anyone that buys a HID set that does not come with this harness that you make one as the OEM harness is not designed to handle the current that is drawn from it on start up of the ballasts.

I just received mine from Kazespeed. They look ok. There's some minor imperfections in the chromework but overall decent for replicas. I'll be installing them in a week with HID so i'll try and post some pics then. I've always hated the cut-off on the stock lights. I put some HID in my Father's 2007 LTD and the cut-off is beautiful. We shall see...
