Inspired by Kmvreter ...

I custom cut a large sheet of 1/2" plywood to fit most of the back with the seats down. It's bulky but I only put it in to use as required. I live with the scratched plastic (it's a truck.)

I've bought an 8ft pick up bed mat cheap at the farm store , it is thick rubber and I cut it to fit the sections of the back seat up and down , looks totally stock and thick and heavy duty.
