Toyota Bugshield question

Hello,

For owner of the Yota Bugshield, are the brackets holding the bugshield laying on the hood ( i have little squares of clear bra) or are the brackets around the hood ?

around the hood, secured from underneath the hood...hope that answers your question.

The clips go around the hood and do not touch it normally, I had to bend some of my clips so that they would not rest on the hood. The clear bra pieces are just there for the rare occasion the clips do come in contact with the hood (auto car washes, high winds, etc.)

Yup looks like they all got bended to rest on the hood.

Are you sure its not just residue from the rubber stops that are supposed to be mounted between the hood and the deflector? All the ones I have ever seen have no metal brackets coming up on the outer painted surface.

Pretty sure it ain't. But I'll take a pic to confirm
