Grab handle retro-fit for drivers A pillar?

I’ve done some searching around online and it seems this isn’t a difficult mod, one site mentioned a “bracket” that’s needed and was made or sold by a member on another 4Runner site? It’s an old thread and some info was missing..

I have an ‘18 TRD Off Road Premium and really would like to have this feature, dumb as it may seem.

Any thought or ideas?

I wonder how much worst a head/ facial injury could be in a collision with this handle added. I know there are airbags etc. but still.

Well, it's definitely not a dumb mod as you will see from the replies and installs.
You just took a little longer to arrive to the party.

I guess if someone or you crashed at the precise angle, and the Driver's side curtain and the Driver's side A pillar bags failed to deploy, there could be a chance one could hit the grab handle. Also, if those scenarios would happen without the grab handle installed, one would still hit the A pillar and sustain concerned injuries.

When I crashed my previous T4R, bags deployed, my seat belt was on, and I received a minor brush from the air bag.
T4R was totalled.
I didn't hit my grab handle.

That's the real-world data I have.
