Back when I got my 2015, there were $5k market adjustments everywhere. I ended up finding one 3 hours away that actually sold it to me for $500 under MSRP. This was right after the TRDP launch, and it was for Inferno, so that was unheard of at the time. Just shop around. Spending $200 on a one way rental to get you to the dealership with the best deal is better than paying an additional $5-$6K.

It's also illegal. Unless there was fine print on the listing price, they cannot do that. Report them. Not even sure why you would give them business after that.

yeah its bs but there are some dealerships that dont do it. only thing good about it is that holds value of the truck.

Plane tickets are relatively cheap. And who doesn't like a road trip in a new truck? I search the US anytime I goto buy a new car. I bought my 2014 Trail Premium in Houston, while living in Florida. Less than $200 ticket, took me a nice two day trip to drive it back, saved $4000 AND found the color and optioned vehicle I wanted.

Somebody will snag it. Toyota can markup $10k, people STILL would buy it. TRD PROs are the iphones of the truck market, fanboys just gotta have it no matter what the price.

Yea, fly somewhere. TRD Pro is a TRD Off-Road with Fox shocks and 1 inch of lift only in the front, Nitto tires with black SEM wheels that are a half inch less in width than an Off-road, and a few colors you can't get on any other 4Runner. You can't even get a moonroof or KDSS on a TRD Pro.
Get an Off Road Premium with the upgraded sound system and a moon roof. Then put a Toytech Boss 3" lift on it and swap out the wheels for SCS Ray10's and 285/70R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and you will spend much less and have a better vehicle. Only thing you can't do is get the orange or granite colors. You can even swap out the front grill to make it look like a TRD pro for about 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Just make sure you don't get the stock running boards that have a welded on step that will catch rocks. Purchase a real slider and install them yourself.

As others have said, shop around... if it's a dealer you do a lot of business with, they should really be taking care of you... if not, just find one that will...
Put a $500 deposit on my 2019 TRD Pro and got it with everything i wanted, nothing I didn't, and did not over pay...
Got a great price for my '16, moved to a '19...
Same dealership since 2002, and same salesman for the last 3 4Runners...
Work on establishing a relationship with the same people that treat you right, and also know how to negotiate... if you play the game right, you can definitely come out on top.

The 2019 TRD Pro comes with the moonroof, standard... as well as the LED fogs, JBL premium sound, auto-lights, heated seats, different rack (albeit absolutely subjective in looks) and of course the upgraded factory suspension... and auto-dimming rear-view mirror...
And the resale on a TRD Pro is insane...

Such a joke, sadly someone will pay it. I was very interested in the Pro when I was shopping for my 5th gen, but the 10K additional pricetag plus all the other upcharges completely turned me off. Plus I couldn't get a Pro with the Nautical Blue or a sunroof which I was annoyed with. Honestly, other than the suspension and a couple odds and ends, what are you really paying for?

I flew from Laguardia to Indiana for $140 and drove my 4Runner back. It was worth the time to avoid dealer markups and bullshit dealer fees.
I've had a deposit for one here in CT since march of this year. Dealer still can't tell me when they might be getting one in. I'm starting to regret not putting a deposit down at another dealer close by just to hold a spot...
As for the insane mark up...when I put my deposit down, they told me what to expect for a price...that MSRP on a 2018 was around $45k, so they would expect MSRP to be somewhere around there but definitely a little bit more. Since Toyota finally put the Pro up on their website and everyone knows MSRP is somewhere around $46,500...I really hope they don't pull that price adjustment on me whenever the 4runner shows up
