Yeah, who knows but I did read the FJC was being dropped and Toyota was going to make the 4Runner their 4WD truck. To be honest I don't know if it's true and don't really care because there are a ton of them around and I know I'll always be able to find one if mine dies before I do.
An article I found links to the Toyota Fleet site. Stating that according to this site, dealerships will stop taking orders in June of 2014.

But I don't know what it means and doesn't specifically say, no more FJs. Maybe a redesign is in the pipeline?? Ehh?

Click the link you posted - all language about FJ being discontinued was removed by Toyota several months ago. To my knowledge that was the sole basis for all of the speculation about the FJ and now Toyota has removed it without comment. Hardly confirmation.....

People are confusing FLEET with actual production? I don't know what FLEET is, but I assume its stuff for like CalTrans and so on. Which wouldn't surprise me that they drop the FJ Cruiser, hell I'm surprised the 4Runner is even on it, how many Fleet 4Runners do you see in the US?
Again, Toyota has not confirmed or denied anything in terms of the FJ Cruiser as a line YET; they just released at the beginning of the year how they loved the FJ and wanted to keep it in spite of its smaller sales margin because of heritage and company bla bla blah.

Doubt if you see much or any 4r commercials or ads, as they have no problem selling them. They advertise the other models as they wish to sell as many of the runners, made to many of them and no buyers. You never see promos on 0% financing or rebates on the runner.

It's always been my reasoning that they do not advertise for the "good sellers". The vehicles that sell themselves or that they know that there are certain customers that will buy those types of vehicles.
In GM land, notice that you don't see a whole bunch of 'vette commercials, but see a ton a Malibu, etc ones. They know they already have the "clientele" for those 'vettes, so they don't waste the money on advertising for them.
Or something like that. All of that could be complete BS. But I would assume that the 4Runners do alright, while the Rav4 needs all the help it can get.

FJ is going away in 2014
Maybe they'll make a better vehicle to compete against the Heep in price and functionality, so I don't feel as bad when I destroy my vehicle lol.The 4Runner will soon join the ranks between the Highlander and the Sienna :caked: I'm talkin full unibody chassis, AWD, 4cyl, IFS and IRS, CVT trans, 4 row seating, vacuum, 20" wheels, and exactly 27 cup holders.

I agree! The 4th gen commercials were badass. I remember the one of the silver 03 with cladding I think hitting some mountain trails hard.

I've been working on [MENTION=88447]kenski[/MENTION] 5th Gen. 4Runner and the amount of positive attention it's getting tells me that demand is still too high for Toyota to let it go. As of last night I'm sold on a 5th Gen. As soon as I replace my wife's Sienna, I'm bring one home! BTW, Land Cruiser and its little brother, the Prado, sell very well in the Middle East.
