BG's 44K once a year has been my ritual on all my cars since '95.
I've seen proof of it doing it's job after a head change on my '93 Eclipse which really kept the cylinder tops clean and I maintained a steady 95% duty cycle on my injectors under WOT which were never taken out and properly cleaned and had at the time 110k miles on them and a good portion of those miles were a 1/4 mile at a time.

What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to resolve a problem or just do some Preventive Maintenance?
I usually add some Techron to a tank every oil change or 10,000 miles whichever comes first as a PM item. I've been doing that (using most any name brand fuel system cleaner) for over 25 years on numerous 200,000 + mile cars.

I've always used high octane gas on my 03' 4runner and never had any problems. I just wanted to give it and extra preventive maintenance and make sure everything is nice and clean. I never used EFI additives because I thought they would do more harm than good and may void the warranty. So now that my 4runner will be seven years old with 155K and of course out of warranty I wanted to give it a little bit of cleaning with an additive. Mostly, I get between 285 and 300 miles per fill up, perhaps if I start using the additives, I'll get a little more. It seems that there are a lot of products which probably do the same thing, however I can't seem to decide which one is the best. :dancin:

87, or 91, no difference in the cleaning ability of the fuel because of the octane.
Its the additives that are put in the fuel which makes the difference. Such as V power and Techron.

thats what i have heard too. Using better quality fuels works wonders. But im not sure as to additives. Ive heard that EFI cleaners can open the hole where the fuel is squirted out to a larger diameter over time. But i dont know if this is the truth. Maybe someone here knows.
I highly doubt any detergent-based additive is going to enlarge the injector hole. I think what you read is how manual (or ultrasonic) cleaning can damage injectors.
Anyone know a good place to buy BG 44K? I'm also curious which BG product is designed for pouring into a gas tank... it seems their fuel line cleaners are designed to be used with a direct injection kit.
