pfft, once they replaced the Cressida with the Avalon, I jumped ship.
the new ones are awesome, but I don't think I can ever like a fwd car anymore. either Subaru Tribeca (or whatever replacement they come out with) or the FT 4wd of my 4runner.
worse case, I would buy a highlander awd.

My father had a 1985 380SE. Drove like a tank. We loved it. This is the car that convinced me the Germans had the best luxury cars on the planet (at that time). Then Lexus happened, well, I've been a fan ever since. I do remember that small S class was absolutely terrible on snow. But, when the pavement was dry, that little 3.8 V8 felt like it had 500 lb/ft (it actually had 196lb/ft). Like all/most german cars, it got old and started to nickel and dime my dad to death (his next car was a 1991 LS400).
