Has anyone had issues with Extra Care or with corrosion in wiring harnesses?? I had both!
Back in November my MIL came on and the tranny started to slip. It threw 2716 solenoid circuit code. The dealer checked everything out and discovered some corrosion in the wiring harness to the tranny and in the main harness. They replaced the tranny harness and "repaired" the other even when the adjuster and the service writer recommended replacing it.
Repeat the above but change the date to last week and subtract the tranny harness. Again Extra Care wanted to "repair" the wiring. The service writer stuck up for me and fought them until they finally gave into replacing the main harness.
The first time the 4Runner was down for 10 days and the second time 6 days. They'll pay for a rental but only after the adjuster comes out to look at it. It took him 4 days to get there the first time and 3 days the second. I think this whole thing was a bunch of b.s. Adjuster??? The tech doesn't count?? I had vw's for years and any time there was a warranty issue it was the service manager and tech that decided what to do. No waiting for a third party to come look at it. And they wanted to "repair" it again?? What crap! They sell you an extended factory warranty for way too much money and then don't want to pay out.
