Toyota Fuel System Recall

Heard on the news tonight that some Toyota models are being recalled for failing (fuel pumps?). Some 4Runner models are affected. All affected owners will be contacted by Toyota.

Anyone have more info or more clarifying info?

My VIN apparently is not on the list for this recall.
My 2019 TRD ORP was built in June 2019.

My understanding is that the effected VIN's have not been established yet. If your 4runner is to be recalled, it will be some time before you know.

Maybe. Toyota may not have the complete list, but I got an email through Carfax that mine is affected, and confirmed it through the Toyota.com site. Also confirmed through: Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSA

Summary
The subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted.

Safety Risk
If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy
Toyota is currently investigating this issue and will be developing a remedy. When the remedy is available, it will be free of charge to vehicle owners.

I wonder what/why/when Toyota decided to change the fuel pump, or whatever it is

my 2014 is not listed for this, which i am very very very very happy about.
