Maybe that's why Toyota wants to take her truck back, to analyze it![]()

That's about what mine does as well. I'm about to take it in for the first oil change and was going to have them look at it.
How long has the whole process been, I have been to the dealer every friday since March because of the radio shutting down and the vibration on the front end. They recently did an alignment Friday and now it pulls to the right and vibration was gone for about a hour. It's actually worse now. I get to take it back to my favorite place that I get to spend on Fridays next week. I might even start spending thursdays there. I just want this ordeal to be over. The radio has been bad since march and they haven't even replaced it yet. they say they can't get one. but keep telling me it's at the dealer.

I really hope that is not how bad everyone's is? Mine moves a lot more than that. I cant take my hands off the wheel and it moves around 1/2 a inch but like the video but a lot more. and it pulls to the right and is off the road within a second or 2. I have to fight to hold the steering wheel straight and it will go straight but She likes to go right.
Mine did this recently after I went up to 285's It was extremely noticeable with BFG K02's so I swapped to Falken Wildpeaks. Had a little shake but not quite as bad. This past weekend I swapped out one of my 5100's as it had leaked out a ton of fluid and went ahead and upgraded to 2.5" up front and added TC UCA and got an alignment. I have no more shaking issues now. I did read somewhere that shaking in the steering wheel can be caused by a bad shock/strut.
My shake came back coming from Michelin Defenders and going to TRD Pro wheels and stock size Wildpeaks. Pretty much identical shake that I had with factory Dunlops. I have a full set of 5100s that I am needing to get installed, but my factory shocks don't seem to be leaking or anything.
Are you installing UCAs as well?
I’d like to know how your vibration is after you suspension upgrade.
Keep us all posted!

There is a long thread about this issue on CarGurus here: Toyota 4Runner Questions - What will cause a steering wheel shimmy at 60-65mph other than tires, ... - CarGurus
Maybe some people from here are the same ones that have posted there. Regardless, if you go all the way down and look at the last posts made by "Levi", he claims that the "driver's side CV cup" is the culprit and that a bushing solved his problem. I don't recall this ever being talking about on this site. Pumacat, do you know if the dealer or the regional tech looked into this when they had your truck for a month? Maybe someone with more mechanical knowledge could chime in but I know that a larger lift will change the angle of the CV axle. So maybe that new angle of the CV after a lift caused it re-position and "tighten" up, hence fixing the vibration that they previously experienced. Is this even a plausible thought?
Just read through a good part of that thread..seems like this is a pretty widespread problem..Wonder if Toyota is keeping an eye on this.
Would this be relevant to 2WD 4Runners as well? I know from other threads there are 4x2 4R’s with the issue as well.I wasn't going to install UCAs with the new shocks. And my plan was to only set the front 5100s at the .85 setting. It seems that those who have claimed that an upgraded suspension fixed the issue are the ones that did a more extensive and larger lift(new shocks, coils, UCAs, etc). So now that my problem is back after the new wheels and tires, I am not sure what I am going to do(I do know that I can't afford a $3k suspension overhaul right now).
