I got my T4R with only a key, and fortunately had a spare remote from a 3rd gen T4R i used to own that looked exactly like all the remotes I saw online for the 4th gen, so I programmed it to my 4th gen, which worked just fine.
Now I'm in the market for a backup key, and I see plenty of OEM remotes for $80 and keys for $25 to $40.. and other toyota keys, such as the Sienna combo key and remote for $25...
So I wonder: did anyone try using a Sienna key, or any other Toyota key/remote on their T4R and did it work, or alternately, does anyone have any other sort of confirmation that getting whatever Toyota key I feel like for general late 2000s model Toyotas will work fine? I might try it anyway, but I'd like the confirmation.
