I would like to put a Toyota or Scion stereo that has an auxiliary jack into my 2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport. Right now I have a cassette adapter with the wire running behind the climate control panel and coming out in the compartment below there. I'd rather just use an auxiliary cable for better sound quality from my phone. Has anybody done this without getting an aftermarket stereo? Thanks in advance.

They're easy as they're basically direct swap (will need aux cable but otherwise plug right in).
I may even have one (well I have one just need to see which model; I don't remember) that I'd sell.

Adding an AUX port to an 05 is more difficult with a stock radio. You might be better off going aftermarket
I have an Scion radio that I used in my 06 with out any issues its for sale in the classified sections. While it doesnt add an AUX port it does give you two IPOD inputs.
You could go that route with one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0094G44PS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and use the AUX ability that way.
