Last week I took my 4runner in to get looked at because the fuel gauge seemed to be off, they told me they needed to order a part (fuel sender) and that they'd give me a call. This was only MAYBE 4-5 days after purchasing the vehicle. It's a 2000 4runner Limited 4x4 V6. Today I took it in and left it for them around 10:00am, they said it would be ready around 5:00pm. At 4:30 I got a call saying it was ready for pick up so I got a ride over and signed all of the happy papers etc. Not even 1/4 mile down the road I had a very strong odor of gas, I was right next to a gas station so I just figured it's nothing, then I got home and checked under the vehicle and there was gasoline dripping steadily from the frame rails. I was furious so I didn't even take the time to look where it was coming from, I drove it back to the dealership and basically went apesh*t on them. I got a loaner and all that crap and they'll "fix it first thing tomorrow" but honestly, putting a fuel sender in is a very simple task from what I gather, my friend is a mechanic and the only reason I took it to Toyota is because of the warranty. I'm just venting and I really don't know what this post achieved but it made me feel a little better.

Feel Free to vent....

that's why we are here!

Look at it this way, if it wasn't under warranty, they would have charged you the going shop rate ($85.00 to $110.00) an hour to not put things back together correctly!
