Toyota - Sirius Adapter

Hello all. First, thank you to everyone with the wonderful info, you've been a big help. Picking mine up this week.

Has anyone tried the TOYSIR2 adapter to hook up a Stiletto or similar portable Sirius radio to the NAV unit yet? It is suppose to allow control and a complete visual copy of the screen on the radio, i.e. channel control, artist and channel indication etc.

I guess I'll be the guinea pig for this one..

For those who don't have experience with the Stiletto radio, it's awesome.

You can save the individual songs you like, you can save 40hrs of continuous music and fast forward song to song. You can use it like a iPod for those saved songs and hours of saved channels. You can install a memory card and download your own music to it also. It is without a doubt the best radio for satellite. I have a lifetime with it so this will be the second vehicle I've installed it in.

If I can hide it in the dash or center console and navigate using the NAV screen, that would be awesome. Actually, beyond awesome. It will be hidden, I will have my sat radio and have my tunes at the gym.


Here are the parts;

SoundLinq SL2S Toyota Sirius Interface (This is the interface between the radio and the head unit).

SIRIUS Connect Vehicle Kit SCVDOC1 (This is the universal dock for the radio).

I should have install and a performance review next week.

Do you know if there is an option like this for the Xmp3 player?

Can you pause and record specific songs from the nav screen?
Will it beep when an artist you have selected is playing on another channel?

There might be. I think the Stiletto can be an XM or Sirius player.

What I was told is that, when hooked up, the radio becomes the receiver and receiver only. You can't, when hooked into the vehicle, save songs. I have a home dock hooked up to a wireless antenna. I use this to save songs and hours of station playback.

I had it in my Jeep, audio output to the head unit, and could save songs like on my home dock. Seeing the display was bad, small screen, and control needed a separate remote that has horrible IR reception. It was also visible to anyone walking by too.

I'm excited if this works. I can hide it in the console and totally control and see everything through the NAV unit. I love saving 40 hours of music from different stations and being able to skip the songs I don't like. It's like having a fresh iPod every time I hook it up.

As for the artist beep, don't know. I've never used it before...
