There are no specifics here, except figure a new 4Runner in the 40K range, and the formula below.

If the tariffs were to go through, a top-selling Lexus NX, now priced at $32,927, could jump to $40,233 if Toyota passed on the full $7,306 in potential tariffs, based on its 95 percent foreign content. But an Acura RDX, with just 35 percent foreign content, would see its sticker price rise to just under $36,500 if the full cost of the tariffs were added to its $33,464 price.

Tariffs are a hidden tax! Come on Donald, you know it is We The People that pay the tariff. Not the manufacture or the government. It is the end user - the buyer!

Yep, if you want the goods, you pay the tariff. Thank goodness I already got my 4Runner. The idea is that it will make USA product more competitive, but what Jeep needs to stay competitive is a vehicle that last more than 20k miles...

Wrench is right. I just traded my 2015 4R 4WD for new one, same exact color and options.
Wife thinks I am crazy, and the '15 only had 52K miles on it.
Thinking tariffs, and new model, do not think the 19's will change, but the
new decade coming in, 4R unibody ?
If anyone is on the fence to buy, I would recommend it. IMO, Trump needs to stay in office, if the liberals get in, we will become Venezuela overnight.

With the emergence auto bill pay I guess many people never even look at their bills anymore. Look closely at a bill you receive and it will likely have a category listed as a tax that the consumer pays for the business that provides the service. They do not even hide it from us.

Steel and aluminum tariffs will affect US manufacturers, so the tariff isn't really helping domestic autos.

Every other country in the world is protective as hell of their domestic auto industries.

Americans are spoiled that we allow other countries to sell their cars here without a premium.

If all Toyota has to do is make more cars in the US to avoid the tariff, then they should open more plants in non-union states and hire more Americans.

Our friends in Japan, Germany, Canada and many other places charge duties on our vehicles and other products while we charge much less on theirs, putting U.S. consumers and workers at a disadvantage.
