TOYOTA TIS Techstream

Hi guys,

I've just bought MINI VCI 2012 Latest V7.10.030 for TOYOTA TIS Techstream from Ebay.

I've tried to install it on two laptops (Win 7 64bit on both). One I can install the software, but I get an error for the driver. The second I can install the driver and cannot install the software.

Anyone have the latest software for Win7 64bit?

Interesting fact I have learned about PC Based Scantools... they need crappy OS.

You need to be running either Windows 7 32Bit w/ XP Compatibility Mode, or XP SP2 or SP3 32Bit to properly run the software. It has to do with how the program was coded... Its weird how these scantools run on outdated OS, our smog machine runs on Windows 2k ME.

Our TIS Techstream (It has the Panasonic ToughBook with Snap-On designed cage/adapter pack for it) runs windows XP SP3

That sucks
To download Virtual PC they require Win 7 Pro and I have only Win 7 Home.
I'll try with a dual boot or my last option, bring the desktop (w/ Win XP) down to the car

have you tried to run as administrator? that's what i do to flash my windows mobile phone/android phone on my win7 x64 pro. if i run flashing tools without "run as administrator" option it'll give me error. i'm assuming the scantools software could be the same. correct me if i'm wrong.

I have mine running on Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.

BTW, I *highly* recommend you break-off the tab that secures the plug onto the OBD-II port _before_ you plug it in the first time. I had a very tough time getting it off the first time without it being broken.

Doesn't let me to run it as Admin, because the extension is "msi" not "exe".
I've tried also to install Win XP, but got errors on both laptops.
Both components inside laptops are 64bit and I get an error when tried to run the setup for Win XP.

I've managed to install it on my desktop (Win XP) w/ no errors, so I have to move down my desktop to the truck or find another old laptop with Win XP.

Another question.
First I've installed "Toyota Techstream 7.11.010.exe" and on the left side I see the menu with all the options. After installing the driver "MVCI Driver for TOYOTA.msi" some of the options from the menu on the left just went invisible or are dissabled.

I'm left only with "Connect to Vehicle" and "Generic OBD II".
Is this normal? This is my first time when deal with this type of software.

That's an interesting idea.. never tried it myself though.

Honestly though, if you get a cheap netbook or cheap laptop that runs Win 7 or XP; 32bit you'll be fine. the Panasonic Toughbook that Toyota uses for the scantool is pathetic compared to modern laptops, so the actual hardware requirements aren't that intensive.

Yea, could be worth it to just get a cheap net book or pick up an old used Ultrabook.

Yes, you can program tpms with tech stream.

You don't need to buy any software. It's coming with software, but doesn't work on Win 64bit vers. You need to have a 32bit vers. of Windows.
