Another Magic Toyota in Lynnwood, WA let down today. Needed a 20k service and this seemed the closest/most convenient dealer... certainly not the best though from my past personal experience.

They tried to sell me a Cement 4runner last year for $57k! And my dumb ass was gong to buy it if they didn't sell it out from under me (I was on my way, ten min away). Did me a favor though as Doxon Toyota sold me a Cement at MSRP!

Anyways.... short story long, some cheezy fast talking Dbag bum rushed me today in the service dept as I was checking in (because I guess I filled out the online form for nothing just to have to do it all over again once I got there) and told me that Toyota is going to "make a bunch of these for next year"! I tried to ask/get him to clarify if he meant 4runners or tacos and tundra in cement but he kept taking at me, not letting me talk and would not answer my question, instead just walked away. At first I thought he was just a customer but after that shitty interaction I assumed he must have been a sales guy.... nope. The service writer told me he was the OWNER! Lmfao, what an uninformed doosh. Hey pal, if you haven't heard 2019 colors are out and Cement is not one of them for the 4runner. Just FYI.

And a special shout out to the little shitheads in your service dept who were moving at the pace of molasses uphill for NOT tightening one of the skid plate bolts and just about stripping the other one. Don't worry, your service manager took owner ship of it, apologized and fixed it, which he should never have to do. And hey, so what if it added another 30min to my apt, its not like I have to be anywhere.

Love Toyota but shit like this makes me not want to buy another one....

Enjoy the sticker pic of the TRD OR Black out. What a bargain?!?! Go Magic Toyota!

Thanks for admitting that you ALMOST bought at trd pro above cost, not too many admit to it. Glad you were able to get it at MSRP.

At first I thought you found a nightshade edition LOL, markups be crazy.
 
@doc, I admit I am one of the shallow/vain people what wanted that "rare" color and sadly was willing to pay a premium for it. Got lucky and it worked out in my favor in the end though. I am a car guy and sometimes lose my common sense when it comes to limited editions, etc.... The whore marketing ploy and mark up for special editions is fascinating how it plays on our insecurities or just wanting to feel special but fact is people out there are paying it, otherwise we would not have the R's, "limited's", final edition, special edition, etc, etc....... maybe someone will even want this "black out", lol...
 
It baffles me that people get worked up about the dip shits that work at the dealerships. It's like being surprised the sun rose this morning.

Hey, we are in the same camp on this. It's all about expectations though and knowing you are not going to be able to change their behavior and or culture. Deal with it or stay home.
 
ya..... I'm done with Magic. If you bothered to even check the air filter, did this look good to you? Another 30min and 20 bux out of my day.

Where I live, they are selling brand new sr5 4 runners with ugly wheels that have way too low of an offset that poke out like lowriders, 3" lift kits, for like $61,000+ I will take photos next time.

Getting worked up about it and being surprised by it are two different things. I expect the dealership staff (especially sales) to be empty cups, that said I do find it hard not to get worked up when people (any people) lie, cheat, take advantage of others trying to simply exist or conduct business in good faith. Unfortunately that is exactly what happens at these dealerships because all they care about is bilking people out of every possible dollar by any means necessary.... misrepresenting, misleading, pressuring, disingenuous, and downright insulting when you are bold and informed enough to call them on their BS.

So yes, I still get worked about it and always will. This Magic Toyota owner OP is talking about actually was driving around a Cavblue Pro earlier this year and had put a couple hundred miles on it as basically his daily commuter and his "sales ringer" was trying to still pass it off as new with a $5k premium. I told him that is crazy. I also love all the little dealer adds on these rigs that are always way over priced and get on the rig/sticker before you can even refuse them. I could go on for hours.

I bought mine at MSRP from one of the two dealers Puget Sound area that will sell the pro at MSRP (Burien and Doxon). I recommend anyone around here go to one of those two places.

Yeah, no shit. You think I fell off the turn-up truck yesterday? All these games the dealerships play have been going in since before you were here and will continue long after you are gone. Go ahead and continue to get worked about it if it makes you feel better, but realize it doesn't do a lick of good.

The dealerships do it because uneducated consumers don't know any better and some buy it hook line and sinker and the dealership makes $$. In a business sense can you really fault the dealership or the prick sales guy. Business is business and if they are not breaking the law just contiue to be the informed consumer that you are and stop getting so emotional about it.

Almost 8 grand for a few mods a high schooler does in a day? Wow. That really shows how much of a stealership they are. If someone wanted to pay me to do that to their vehicle, I wouldn’t even feel right taking that much.
 
You know it's bad when you finally score one of the few TRD Pros in Southern California and you can't believe how lucky you are because you *only* paid full MSRP. Everyone else wants 5-10k over sticker and even 2016 models are going for 2018 MSRP. Crazy.
 
Having an excellent service adviser is rare these days. I stopped using a dealership after they promoted their best adviser into a new position.
Nobody else even came close. Their service manager was an idiot too.
