I just received an email from Toyota asking me to take a survey for my recent 2010 4Runner purchase. The weblink is www.toyotaquality.com. Did any other new owners receive this? Just wanted to see if it was real. The survey basically asks for my opinion on the different parts of the vehicle (transmission, engine, interior etc.).

For those experiencing this problem: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs-its-finally-here/60426-acceleration-hesitation.html

Or even giving feedback on the wimpy horn, it may be a good thing to get our concerns heard.

Horn? Painted spare? Too many cheap plastic parts? Voice recognition that doesn't work? And many more sacrifices to the bean counters just to save a few bucks.

A near perfect offering of a vehicle tarnished by cheap decisions made to save a few dollars that I would have been glad to spend to have a truck that much closer to perfection.

I hit on

back windshield wiper
shorter or different location for antenna
Better organized center consol box (seriously, how many coins can you fit in that coin holder..5?)
Horn
Nav functions disabled while driving
Option to disable engine kill on remote start when door is open
Tie in wiper de-icer to remote start

Then dished out on the farm league sales team I dealt with (head sales mgr was awesome, but it was his day off when it came in and my wife was only in town for a couple days). can read about that in the salesman/dealer area on here.

Man, you sound unhappy. :/ Horn, yes, but I enjoyed the process of replacing them. Painted spare - who cares? Too many cheap plastic parts - where? I am very happy with the materials inside the 4runner. Voice recognition that doesn't work - mine does.

I listed the thin sheet metal and tinny-sounding doors. Also, the lack of a V8.

I love the vehicle, but AM unhappy about the items listed. I'm used to my Toyotas EXCEEDING my expectations - that's why I've been buying them for over 28 years. I knew there'd be places where I'd be disappointed with cost-cutting changes, but I expected them to be more thought out. This is the most expensive Toyota I've ever bought and it suffers from some the silliest cost-cutting measures yet and I think Toyota can do better. I wanted to let them know that I expected something a little better finished for the money. Of course, YMMV.
