So I finally decided to lift my truck so I go to toyotec to get my stuff and figure I will install it myself. I go buy 300.00 in tools and go to pick up my stuff. The guy at toyotec asks me, do you want us to build your coils? I said na, then he sells me on it saying I get new plates and bushings etc and I figure ok, this should make it easier and I dont have to rent a spring compressor. I tell the guy, make sure the coil ends are facing the right way please. He assures me they know what they are doing.
So, I go home and start taking stuff apart and I break a bolt on the frame taking off the sway bar. I finally get it off and I go to take off the driver shock and I cant loosen the bottom nut to save my life. I broke 3 socket drivers even after liquid wrench. I am beyond frustrated at this point and decide to look at the new coils I just bought just to make sure they were built right (a little late huh). What do you know, the ends of the coils are not facing the correct way which means the coils can rub on the sway bar. I JUST TOLD THIS GUY to make sure they are correct. It even states this in BOLD print on toyotecs OWN website. At this point, I am defeated and start making calls for someone else to install this crap.
I call Slee and they say they will install it but I get 20% off the installation buying the stuff from them. I plan on taking this crap to toyotec anyway because I am pissed they did it wrong. I told the guy at slee, I really wanted the toyotec springs and 60020 shocks for more travel though and he said while he never seen or ridden in this set up, that the 60020 are for a land cruiser and will probably be stiffer than the normal ome stocks that come with the kit since the landcruiser is heaver.
Anyone running the 60020 shocks? Are they stiffer than the normal OME shocks I would normally get? Thats the whole point of the toyoflex is to prevent a stiff rear ride. The guy also told me at slee that the shocks are what determines how stiff a ride is, not the springs and after some research I found that to be true.
One other thing, I have a V8, so I am going with 885 front OME springs, do I need the spacers as well to get the full 3" lift? Some say yes, some say no.
