Toytec 1.5" Rear Spacer

Alright. I'm a college student on a tight budget. Can't exactly afford a lift or the gas bill after a lift (yet; give me 2 years) but that rear sag in the back of my 1999 limited just pisses me off. I need a quick fix. anyone have any experience with Toytec 1.5" rear spacers? would they lift it too much in the rear? i'd take a little rake over sag any day. i could add some 3/4" top plate spacers in the front if it was too much. shoot me some suggestions fellas. How much are you sagging back there? If 1.5" is too much, you can stack two 10mm OME trim packers on top of each rear coil for .75" of lift. Keep in mind, you need to have your factory cone bump stops in (the ones that go inside the rear coils) to use any spacers because the cones hold the spacers in. Some earlier models don't have the cones and sometimes people just take them out, so make sure you have them. The trim packers are $10/ea. and you'd need 4 of them..

Ya know what man, i don't know thatd I'd even call it sag. Just kind of the way it sits lower in the rear than in the front. I'll probably go with stacking the 10mm spacers. You're a genipus haha. And I do still have the factory cones. I really appreciate your input!

I put those 1.5" spacers on top of my slightly saggy '99 coils. Looked perfect to me!

quick, thanks a lot. that picture was all i needed. your rig looks sharp! exactly what i want mine to look like until it turns into a trail rig. did you do the install yourself?
 
Yes. We (my dad and I) made it harder than it needed to be, because we only had one jack. Because we didn't have an extra jack to put under the opposite side and flex the axle, we ended up having to use spring compressors to get them back in. It sucked. But, with two jacks, it should be easy. One under the diff, and one under the opposite you're working on.

I'm not a big fan of spacers but... They are not bad on the back if the coils are still good. My coils had sagged so bad that I was ~1/4" off the jounce bumpers (the rubber cones).

Not at all. The rear rode BETTER with the spacers than it did before them. Rear shocks were 9 year old stock length Bilstein HD's.

I'm getting ready to install OME 890's with the same spacers, and I'm replacing the shocks with some longer travel Rough Country's. You can get away with stock length shocks with up to 3" of lift....if you don't flex the rear very much.
 
I need new rear shocks anyways. might get some when my spacers get here. hope the spacers don't kill my springs. oh well. if they do... time for new springs. good excuse right? :reddance:

The spacers aren't going to kill your coils. If the coils are beat, the spacers aren't going to keep them from sagging more. They should get you the lift you want till the coils sag more. By that time you may be ready for a full spring lift.

a couple years, a couple years... soon as i can afford gas to roll some 35s.
 
Spacers came in today! Pretty pumped about it. Dad and I are gonna install tomorrow. I feel like I'm missing something though. I feel like I need more than just two polyurethane cylinders to make this happen...? :shrug:

what's the deal fellas?

One doughnut goes on top of each coil, in between the coil and the stock rubber jounce bumpers (rubber cones).
 
well guys, the job is done. inch higher in the back at the moment. will see how she settles over the next couple days. might just have to ride around with a hundred or so pounds of gear in the back from now on lol. will post some just okay before and after pics tomorrow.
