Toytec 1 inch body lift.. Any mods??

Going with the toytec 1 inch body lift! Am I going to run into problems with bumper separation? Do I have to do radiator drop and steering extension at 1 inch. Ive looked at a few forums and everyone is all over the place with what to do.

General consensus is that the bumpers stretch enough to cover just fine no gaps at 1". The rad drop is required to prevent the fan hitting the shroud. Some people need a steering spacer, some don't. Some probably put it in for piece of mind and didn't need it.

i just did my 4crawler 1" a couple of weeks ago. bumpers stretch to keep the structure hidden. didnt need a steering extenision or my radiator shroud brackets for some reason my fan clears just fine. very straight forward install didnt need to mod anything.

Installed on mine too, no separation, the steering extension and the rad drop bracket were included in the kit

I just installed the Toytec 1" BL yesterday and ended up with contact between the blades and fan shroud.

Also, maybe I did something wrong, but had to drill 2 holes to use the radiator relocation hardware.

Installed my Toytec 1" BL last May. Fan clears the shroud, but just barely. I installed the steering spacer, pita but worth it for piece of mind. As for the bumper, I was concerned with the info all over the place as well. Here is what I did:
The bumper is attached to the frame by 6 studs/nuts (3 on each side). As it turns out, the studs are about 1" apart. I just moved the bumper up in position on the studs. It's only held on now by 2/3 studs on each side, but is solid (nailed it on a huge boulder and it didn't budge). Not sure if this is what people are describing as "stretch". If I didn't do this, I would have had a 1" gap.

Reviving a four year old thread! (For those who are doing a Toytec lift now)

I recently finished installing the Toytec 1” body lift on my 2004.

I don’t have an issue with bumper separation, and I haven’t had to install the steering spacer (yet), but I did need to use the radiator brackets to move the radiator down an inch. The fan blades were hitting the fan shroud, and I didn’t want to trim the shroud where the fan was hitting it.

Update: my steering is a little stiff after the body lift. The steering shaft is rusty at the joint between the upper and lower steering shaft, and did not move when I loosened the nuts under the hood. If I can somehow extend the effective length of the steering shaft, I may get rid of my steering stiffness without needing the steering spacer.
