Toytec, ARB, and other new mods...(2000 4runner)

A few months back I did the following mods: 3/2 OME lift, Mickey Thompson Classic wheels, ARB front bumper with Piaa lights, Optima batter, and Warn Winch.

Today I got the 4runner back after a couple more mods: 1" Toytec body lift, new Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar tires, and my favorite mod--ARB Air Locker in the rear!

I'll take better pics when the weather calms down, but I'm excited to test these tires out on some difficult terrain!

Nice choice of upgrades, what made you choose the mt/rs with kevlar? That arb locker is nice..how much did it run you if you don't mind me asking?

Strictly off the recommendation of my mechanic. He said they were the best, and he hasn't steered my wrong yet! They were a bit pricey, but I wanted a much more aggressive tread than the all-season's I had previously.

ARB locker was $750 + compressor + install. I think altogether it was $1200-ish for the locker installed. I love the compressor--there is a hookup to inflate tires on the trail!

Oh well definately let me know how they perform, I'm gonna be in the market for new tires soon. Around $1200 hmm, did you regear also? I think when I save up enough I'll go with an arb I want to be able to air up my tires too haha.:hungry:

Congrats, you'll love the locker and you got a sweet looking truck there! BTW, I have heard and read from several people that the ARB compressors don't last very long if you use them to air up tires, they overheat easy. Even with the larger HD one it probably won't last as long. I recommend getting a good portable comp for the tires. The ARB is still good to have as a backup comp for tires if you need it once in a while though.

trucks looking great! ill be the first one and say take the boards off! theyll get trashed the first real wheeling trip you take, if you pull them off you could probably sell them for 100 bucks

Didn't regear. He said it was my call whether I wanted to or not. Tires have more road noise than I'm used to, but seem to have awesome grip in the snow!

Thanks for the heads up! I will definitely have a back up compressor--the ARB is just a little guy.

Thanks!! My next mod is rock sliders. I'm trying to find the right ones--should be ordered within a week or so.

you could mount an aux air tank for increased capacity. i know it will run the compressor just the same, but at least you can air up faster.
