Hey Dudes,
[MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I installed a Toytec lift for [MENTION=146244]phokingchink[/MENTION] and of course we videoed the whole thing so we could share it with the masses.

If you want to install a complete lift on your 3rd Gen, this is the video to watch. Is it long? Of course it is. But, if you can stand listening to me for an hour and 20 minutes, you'll have all the information you'll need to be successful installing a lift on your rig.

Love how there is absolutely zero RUST on that truck anywhere!
Been thinking about doing a lift on my rig but afraid of rust, plus havent researched much.

I appreciate all of your videos man. I wish I lived closer. I do all of my own work but I live in a condo and our HOA finally caught me working on my rig and put a stop to it.

HOA rules suck, don't they? I lived in a condo before so I know all about it.
 
Sweet video Tim. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I'll be putting a lift in my 99 here soon and this definitely gives me a lot more confidence.
 
Great video boys. You guys covered just about everything a 3rd gen owner considers upgrading while installing a F&R lift.

The one thing I noticed, is when you were doing the ubj press with the spindle horizontal and mentioned how it may be easier to remove it and work on a bench, I was thinking how it would be a good time to also add some TC spindle gussets. Not really necessary, but if you wheel your rig then it's cheap insurance. I have some All Pro UCA's to put on at some point, and I'm thinking that's the route I'll probably go when the time comes. The only problem is I'd need my local fabricator to burn in the gussets since I'm currently without a welder and would have to drop the spindles off, which is less than ideal. Unless I can find another set of spindles to drop off and have the gussets welded and swap the new spindles out when I do the UCA's.

Also, I never realized how much room a body lift gives you between the body and the frame when dealing with the rear shocks. I hate that top mount, which is why I went with the Bilstein 5125's (top and bottom eye mount) with the stud-to-eye adapters.
 
Not sure how you guys do it... I have trouble remembering to take pictures when I do something to the truck.

I miss your frequent build updates! Does 2017 hold any goodies for little miss blackie?

[MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I raped a 3rd Gen at our local Pick and Pull recently and we pulled off the steering knuckles so he could get gussets welded on and then we'll swap them for his OEM ones.

Those stud to eye adapters look awesome. That looks much easier to deal with the regular top mounting.
 
Can' thank you guys enough for these videos! As a total rookie it is really helping me understand how much is involved in each job. I can now better plan out time, cost, and feasibility of my long wish list.

Sorry, my build got kinda out of control for like 8 months haha. Now it's pretty much built. The only big thing I'm still thinking about is a locker if a 4.10 elocker pops up for a reasonable price. That, possibly swapping my rear springs, and a new set of tires sometime this year probably. I don't know if I will be going any bigger though, don't want to take away any of the drive-ability or go to too harsh of a tire like an E rated LT tire.

Plan for this year is to actually get out and use this truck, I've got a few trips in mind. Including a possible cross country Moab run in March. We'll see what the cards have in store for me.
