Toytec Lift Kit

Hello,

I have an 05 Runner V8 SR5 and I'm looking for a good 3" Lift Kit. I'm thinking about going with a Toytec but they are pretty expensive. I definetly don't want to sacrifice ride quality so it needs to be good quality. I'm sure there are tons of postings on this site regarding my question but I have no idea where to find them so please forgive me. Any advice?

Do a search for "lift" and there should be many conversations on this subject

Assuming that you are talking about spacers here is an inexpensive 2.5/1.5 lift

Amazon.com: Daystar KT09124BK Comfort Ride Strut and Coil Spring Spacer Lift Kit: Automotive

Also, as for ride quality, it will suffer from spacers, but it is not too bad. This worsening of ride quality is not related as much to the construction of the kit itself but rather the height of the lift. The options that would result in the ride quality suffering less are quite a bit more money (OME and Coilovers)

Apologies if this is a elementary question, but is OMI a brand name or a type of suspension?

OME = Old Man Emu, a brand that makes suspension parts and lift kits.

You should check out the 4th Gen lift & tires thread to get an idea of what the different kits look like :)

I myself plan on having the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift kit installed by the end of this month :jump:

Good show! I also plan to install my DS kit by the end of this month. I'm just waiting for this blasted collar bone to fuse back together:boxer:

I have been running the Daystar kit for several months and I must respectfully disagree with the comment about it degrading the ride quality. I have found no negative effects what so ever. Personally, I love the Daystar kit!

Thanks for the info...

I've heard that the OME (Old Man Emu) kits are really nice, for $750.00 you can get a 3" lift that includes shocks, front and back, and springs/coils front and back but you still need spacers in the front.

The local 4X4 house in Denver (High Country 4X4) wants $600.00 to install it. Any ideas? Anyone in Denver interested in helping me throw it together? Of course, there will be food and drinks and anything else needed for your time.
