Toytec lift + Warranty?

I just got my 4runner about a month ago and I already want to lift it. I got the 100k mile extended warranty, will a lift affect my warranty? I plan on getting the Toytec ultimate lift. Just wanted to make sure before I bought it. Thanks.

No it will not. Some dealers actually install the toytec lifts before they sell vehicles. There are a couple discussions on this on the toytec website in the forum section.

Toyota can deny warranty claims on the suspension or anything that fails directly related to the lift, i.e. CV joints fail. The proof is still on Toyota to prove that as result of the modification it cause a failure. They cannot void the entire warranty, i.e. if the radio goes bad, they have to warranty the radio.

AFAIK you cannot cite the MM act in Canada.

There is no MM act equivalent in Canada.

Does that prevent people from modifying their vehicles? No.

Could the dealership possibly void your warranty? Possible.

I'm not 100% sure on the warranty laws up here. I know each province has individual consumer protection acts but i dont know how far it extends into vehicle coverage and warranty void based on modifications.

I know tons of people who have modified cars/trucks and each have had varied experiences with warranty and dealerships.

Hopefully someone here whose canadian and has dealt with warranty issues over aftermarket modifications can chime in.
