Toytec/ OME lift question...

Thinking about this kit:

Front -‘10-‘11 OME 884: Stock front weight 3" lift.
Rear -‘10-’11- MED OME 895: Uses 60080 rear shocks

It's for my wife's DD SR5. We also have a 2 year old. Mainly beach and light trail duty. Gonna do 285's on either 17X9 or 18X9. The question I have is for the ride quality. How is the ride quality? What can I expect compared to the stock ride? Or should I just do a spacer lift?

Biggest change I've noticed is that with the OME kit I now have almost no nose dive during braking - it was about the only thing that drove me crazy before I had the lift done.

My wife actually doesn't mind it at all - other than a little complaining about getting in as she's only 5'4". The kids don't even notice it!

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 2011 DD SR5 that I recently put the 20" limited rims/tires on. I'm not real concerned about off-roading because it's really a commuter right now. I may take it to the beach every once in awhile, but nothing intense.

I too want to lift it and have been checking out all sorts of options. The spacer lift seems to be the easiest and cheapest, but I'm unsure how severe it's going to make the ride.

Jeff from Toytec suggested that I get the Bilstein 5100 fronts with coilovers and the Bilstein 5100 rears with Superflex coilovers. He stated that for what I want (a smooth DD ride with little off-roading), that would be my best option. Problem is, that's still roughly $1000.
 
I have the tottec ultimate kit sitting here waiting for wheels and tires to come in, I have the same lift on my 2011 Tacoma double cab and it actually rides better than our 2011 4runnee limited, I too was looking at the ome kit, I have heard nothing but good things about the ome product but like the adjustability of the ultimate kit for about the same price so I was able to make sure by measuring and adjusting that the truck sits perfectly level I couldn't be happier with it definitely worth the 100 or so extra. The tottec ultimate kit is adjustable coil overs built around bilstein shocks and springs made for tottec by eibach. It really is top quality, stay away from the spacers we did that on our last 4run Ed and it rode like crap compared to this.
 
Cool. Thanks for the update. Looked at these also. But looks like Im going with the Bilstein 5100 adjustable all around and the Toytec superflex coils in the back. Hope I get the same positive results as you guys did.

If you want a cheaper way to do the same thing, go with this kit:

Thanks for the reply. Got your PM and still finalizing my plans for finding a mechanic here (as we spoke on the phone).
I did a quick google search and found a place on Long Island, NY that does this sort of stuff. Just need to pass by and get a quote from them for the install as they dont quote over the phone.
