Calling suspension experts: I need your advice.
Toytec's OME kit page is a typical paradox of choice. Too many options, not enough info to make an informed decision:
OME full suspension -- Click here for details - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits
I recently bought a 4th gen mainly as a daily driver, but also for weekend adventures. I don't anticipate installing an aftermarket bumper or anything like that on the front. Just considering a mild lift (say 2-2.5") that ideally does not stress the CV boots much.
Reading the Toytec page, it seems that I need the 884 coils for front (light duty, no additional weight). Logically, one would pair that with light duty coils for rear, right? But the only OME option for the rear is 895 medium duty. So in this case, would the Toytec superflex coils be a better pair for the rear?
Now let's talk about the actual lift height. The page states that you must pair the 884 with a Toytec spacer for a full 3" lift. I thought the point of buying a full suspension kit was to avoid spacers? So what is the actual lift height without the spacers?
Furthermore, why are spacers only required in the front for a full 3" lift? Are the coils for the rear taller than the front? If I don't install spacers in the front, would the car then be uneven with the rear being taller?
