Toytec Replacement?

One of the things I knew was an issue when I bought my truck was a leaking/blown driver side front shock. From looking through the records, it appears the suspension kit was put on in December 2014 but that the rear shocks were replaced in September 2016. I don’t have the suspension receipts but from crawling around underneath and researching, it looks like the PO put on a Toytec Boss 2.0 complete kit.

I’ve read through a lot of the suspension threads but would appreciate some feedback on the best way to address my leaking shock. With the coil over can I just buy a new shock and reuse all the other parts? Anybody replaced their Toytec system with something better? There’s been some rubbing on the UCA. I don’t know if that’s due to the shock drooping or from running a 275/70/17 tire without a spacer (stock sport wheels).

If you’ve read this far, here’s a couple of photos showing what I’m working with. 2004 sport v6 4x4 118k miles.

Assuming its a 51bilstien ? Should just be able to buy shock & replace

I believe that toytec boss shocks are made by eibach. You can call toytec and see if they'll replace the shocks only, then you could keep the rest of the springs etc. Or ditch it all for new/different brand...

The shock body is threaded, you will need to buy something similar. I would just call Toytec and tell them your situation, they might sell you set of shocks only.. maybe. If not you need a new set-up, either the Ultimate (5100 Billies) or Boss (Eibach?) front lift kit if you want to keep it the same.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll give Toytec a call and see what they say. I’m reluctant to ditch the whole thing since I haven’t had it very long, but I also don’t want to throw money down the drain on a system that’s not worth keeping.

Anybody out there running Toytec in the rear and something different up front?

There is a discussion on here titled toytec boss performance that refers to the Eibach boss setup being serviceable and able to be rebuilt. Check it out. I am not familiar how to link to it for you or I would!
I am getting ready to purchase a full setup and I just got off the phone with Toytec and he recommended this same setup. I am probably going with it and the SPC UCAs. Any comments on ride quality or likes dislikes? Any comparison to other kits you have ridden on? I am on the stock setup now with 165k miles and the Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer kit currently. It has served well for the last 100k miles!

Oh. Toytec also said you could buy a new shock from them for $200.

I’ll have to check that thread out. My UCA are the total chaos arms. I’ve been happy with the ride quality so far (I’ve only had the truck for two weeks). My truck has 118k miles on it and I think the Toytec kit has about 30k miles on it. The truck is pretty level from front to rear and I think side to side (although I can’t take credit for that).

Glad to hear they’ll sell me one for $200

Sorry for bumping up this thread, but I don't have a permission to start a new thread for my question.

I got a Toytec Lift Kit (TTHA-CK-RCC) installed on my 4Runner 2018. This included rear coil springs as a part of this package.

After some time I noticed that 4Runner is tilted to the left side. Measured the difference and it looks like a 1 inch difference between left and right side.

Can anyone please help me understand if this can be attributed to the quality issues of springs or that is an installation issue?
A guy at the shop mentioned that I just might need a simple spacer to be installed to level it, but this seems like a hack, not as a real solution.

Plenty of people end up with the “driver side lean” yes you can just put a small spacer on that driver side to fix it. Very easy and inexpensive.
