toytec suspension leaning?

the rear drivers side leans and is 1 inch shorter than the passenger side...the coils are seated right does everyone else have this? its a lot more noticeable after a full tank since all the weight is on that side but it looks goofy

The battery and the fuel tank do make them lean a bit... I am not familiar enough with the Toytec you have, are you sure there's not a right and left rear spring? Sometimes springs are made with a right/left specific length for just this reason.

On my T4R I have the Airlift 1000 in my rear springs and always run my left bag with a few pounds more than the right for just this reason.

when I installed the lift they were the same length and didnt have any different part numbers so Im pretty sure they are the same

i know the 3rd gen one spring is a hair taller to compenste for the gas tank

the passenger side & driver side have different measurments normally, but an in. seems too much.

Well I both of the springs had the same part # and were the same length so I didnt think anything of it. I will probably end up putting the airbags in and just have the drivers side a few more lbs of air. Thanks everyone

The Toytec Ultimate has adjustable coilovers, correct? Couldn't you just dampen the left coil a few turns more than the right?

my 97 is the same way... i know this is a bit of an old thread, but i was wondering if anyone figured anything out for this issue... i too just put on

890 Rear Coil Springs
OME 881 Front Coil Springs
Bilstein 5125 Rear Shocks
Bilstein 5100 Front Adjustable Shocks

and mine is still leaning like crazy... i hate it with a passion. does anyone make a shim or a spacer for this??

The rear coils are tagged A and B for the OME's. Do you know which coil is on what side? A should be on the drivers side and B should be on the passenger.

97 4Runner rear coils

If you have a 97 these are the Old Man Emu coils and they are marked with white tags that have the part number and the letter "A" for drivers side, "B" for pass side.
As much of a difference you are measuring, I would bet they are installed on the wrong sides.

The most reliable way is to look at the windings. One will have slightly more. Put that one on the heavy side. For 3rd and 4th Gens that would be the driver side (left) as it has the tank, front driveline and driver. Remember that aussies drive one the other side and that parts get mislabeled (ie drivers/passengers).

ARB also sells trim packers to shim springs. If your springs are identical, then a short spacer from Daystar could be cut down to shim.

On my ome stuff I stuck a daystar 1.5 rear spacer on the drivers side and it sits perfect. I have one leftover if anyone is interested.

I installed the Daystar leveling kit and ran into the same thing. From what I was able to find out is that they all lean to the drivers side a little, just when you lift it then it becomes more noticeable. Confed Suspension custom made me a spacer for the rear drivers side and that fixed it. On Cornfed's site it states that you need to go thru Burtman to buy spacers, but don't bother. Burtman will not respond to emails or phone calls. Cornfed will make you a spacer and sell to you directly. They are listed at the bottom of the page for the 2003-2009 4Runners.
