Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit w/305's

I see a lot of people here using 285 tires with the Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit. Anyone using 305s? Any pix? Any issues?

My plan was to go Ultimate Lift (3") with 305s on stock wheels (with the Spidertrax Spacers.) Wondering what problems I might run into.

I'm running 305/65/17's with 3/2 lift but with aftermarket rims which are 8 inches wide. The recommended rim width for the 305's is 8.5 -10 inches. I was a little leery of the tire coming off the rim when airing down and when putting alot of stress when offroading. I had no problems at all airing down to 20psi on the rocks.

Now ,with a 7.5 inch stock TE rim, your going to have to make the call on that one.Others with 4th Gens and FJ's that wheel hard are doing it and havn't had problems.

Thanks guys. My goal was to not have to buy new wheels. I really like the TE wheels. Plus, I'm not trying to spend the extra cash.

Looking at the specs from the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2s, it appears that the 285/70/17's are actually .02" taller than the 305/65/17's. They are also 11.5" wide instead of 12.2". According to the specs on TireRack.com, they fit on a 7.5" rim.

Do you think the extra fifth of an inch in diameter will cause any more rubbing issues than normal? Even though the are slightly more narrow?

How come you want to go 65's? I have had my 285s on for about a week now and am really considering making the jump to 305s the 285s look kinda small from a distance in my opinion.

I was considering 305/65, but then, after looking at the specs, it turns out that 285/70 are actually taller and narrower than the 305.

285s fit on stock (7.5") rims and are .02" taller in diameter than the 305s, which are an inch wider and require a rim of 8.5" or wider.

So that makes 285s sound like a more logical choice IMO.

Otherwise, If I have to buy new wheels, may as well go all the way up and go 315s... but then the question turns to gearing... I'm not that advanced.

If I go 305's I am going 305/70/17s which is almost a 34inch tall tire depending on the manufacture. Honestly depending what wheels you go with they aren't to expensive I paid 700.00 for my mojaves and sold my stock Trail wheels for 400.00

I didn't see that size listed anywhere. All I found was 305/65s (like what Harper7 has). BFG KM2 285/70s are actually taller than the 305/65s. Just something I noticed.

Do you know where (what brand) I can find 305/70s?
