Hello Everyone!
TPMS light came on and stayed on so I decided to disable it by doing the grounding mod. No more TPMS light! But after 3 days I noticed high pitched humming/whining noise from the engine compartment. Pulled over a gas station and noticed a burning smell. I saw light gray smoke (not a lot) coming from the alternator or around that area. Had it towed to a reputable shop and the mechanic was surprised to find out that the alternator was fried! He also checked all the pulleys and said they're OK. He asked me if I had done anything prior to this and I told him I disabled the TPMS. He recommended to have mod reversed before replacing the alternator. Did this mod have something to do with the fried alternator or just coincidence?
Thanks,
-Anthony
