TPMS for two sets of wheels. Help pls

Hello

I am planning to get a set of winter wheels/tires. Once I remove my old set, the TPMS will go on, of course. I have a few questions:

1. How do I reset the TPMS in the vehicle. Can I turn it off?
2. If I get another set of TPMS for the winter wheels, how to a sync this set with the car.
3. How much is another set of TPMS? Do they sell at dealerships?


Basically, what is your recommendation? I definitely want to go with two sets of wheels: one set for summer and another set for winter.

I guess the most economical option is to ignore the light when I have my winter wheel/tires (that don't have TPMS)

You do not want to buy another set of TPMS.

in fact, TPMS was a big reason I went with other Toyota rims for my wife's camry. The sensors (aftermarket) are about $300 for a set.

I agree with your last statement, ignore the idiot light. Installing TPMS sensors and getting them programmed is not a cost effective solution. This whole TPMS thing is BS. Do people not know how to inflate their tires anymore? How did I ever survive the past?

I have another set of wheels (my FJ wheels in sig) and I do not want to take the TPMS sensors out of the limited wheels nor do I want to buy a set of TPMS sensors.

Is there a way to turn the light off?

I dont want to have to ignore it, maybe I can remove the bulb....hmmm.

To answer your original question. Yes it is possible to have 2 sets of TPMS id's for your truck. Make sure you have all 8 id's written down. In the summer when you put on your Bling Bling rims have a toyota dealer register them. And in the winter same thing with the snow wheels/tires. Unfortunately 4runners with sensors can only be programmed with the Techstream scan tool.
