My TPMS light came on last week so I checked the tire pressures (including the spare) and they all are at 30psi. Called the dealer and he informed me that there is a reset button on the bottom of the steering column that will reprogram the computer to the current pressure settings. Is there such a button and can the sensor be user set?

I know that's possible on some Lexus vehicles with TPMS, but I don't think it's true for the 4Runner.
Yeah, Even Steven is right. The TPMS is actually different from model to model, and the 4Runner has the most basic version. There's no button that will reset or re-calibrate the point at which the light will come on. Other models have such a button, and the Land Cruiser even supports two sets of wheels.
The TSB posted in this thread lists the Toyota models that have the initialize/set switch.
The 4Runner is set to turn the light on at 27 PSI. Keep in mind that the cold weather will cause the pressure to drop. A 10 degree F decrease in temperature roughly decreases pressure by 1 PSI.

The service tech from the dealer indicated on the phone that if I do the following proceder the tire pressure sensor limit will be set to the current tire pressure
1. Press and hold the 'reset' button located on bottom of the steering column
2. Turn the key to ACC until the dash display flashes and then release the reset button.
3. Start the vechile and let it run for 5 miins and the TPMS limit should be set to the current tire pressure
I couldn't find this reset button and that is why I posted this thread to see if any othe 06 T4R have this option or if the dealer is thinking of a 07-08 or different vechile (they are not a lexus dealer)
