Upon arrival at local airstrip tpms promptly started blinking. The manual says that radio interference can cause this to happen- but 3 weeks later- light still blinking! I'm so sad- I just traded a VW Touareg with expensive tpms failure! Has anyone had this radio interference issue?

Actually, a blinking light means there is a system malfunction of some sort (unable to read a sensor, bad sensor, ECM issue, etc...) A solid light means a low tire pressure.

What year is your T4R? Can you get it checked under warranty? I don't think your issue is a momentary signal interference issue. The timing of this may have been a coincidence. I would think the system corrects itself once the cause of the radio interference is removed (i.e. leave the airport) and the sensor signal can be clearly read again by the system. I say this because it would be similar to the example of those of us that run snow tires & wheels. On my '04, the light blinks if you have the ignition on and are away from the signal (because the wheels with the sensors aren't on the vehicle) for 60 minutes or more. Once I get home and park near the summer wheels with the sensors then the system gets the signal, resets and turns off the blinking light.
You can check if your issue is a particular sensor by dropping the air pressure (below roughly 25 psi) in each tire one at a time. Even though it's blinking, the light will go solid if the system is working and that sensor detects a low pressure. Air back up and repeat for each tire (include the spare.) If the light doesn't stop blinking on one tire only then you found the one with the bad sensor. Then you can let the stealership know which one to look at first. If none of the pressure drops trigger a solid light then it's a bigger system issue.
Get it checked and let us know.

A piece of black electrical tape over the light can fix it
