Traction control activating while turning

Ok, so I got my lift sorted out and everything rides great. Now I'm having an issue with the traction control activating while turning sharp and somewhat fast. I can feel the outside wheel braking (sometimes the audible beep occurs - not always) when taking a 90 deg turn at a spirited level of speed (nothing too crazy) but definitely shouldn't be happening. When moving slower this doesn't occur. At first I thought it was pushing on a patch of dirt in the same 90 deg turn I take on my way home and activating the TC, but again definitely not it. Any other turn under a certain degree and at any other speed its fine (ie. off ramp, on ramp, intersection turn, etc).

Note: I live in FL so all of this is on mostly flat surfaces.

My front lift in short:
Maxtrac Spindles (2WD obviously)
Icon Remote Coilovers
SS Brake Lines
Icon UCA's

295/70R18 tires

Seeing I did have to do the SS extended brake lines and re-routed them that might be an issue but I have checked the slack in the lines while at full lock each way and everything seems fine. I'd like to have a little more slack but nothing that should be activating the traction control or locking that outside front tire.

The brakes where bled properly front and rear during re-installation and work far better than the stocks.

The ABS sensor wire has plenty of slack so no binding there. No signs of fraying and/or damage.

Any suggestions on what I should look at? Possibly pull the traction control fuse and see if I can duplicate the situation to see if its the brakes that are somehow locking by itself on the outside tire?

Would the large size difference in the tires from stock while turning (one tire rolling faster than the other during a higher angled turn) activate the TC?

Any input would be much appreciated.

I would suggest that the Variable Stability Control (VSC) system is what's activating, rather than the traction control. The higher center of gravity resulting from the lift and the high speed cornering you are describing is likely causing the yaw sensors to detect a condition that it thinks needs assistance to correct so you don't flip over.

During cornering, the inside wheels are the ones that are more likely to do something to activate traction control, not the outside one. Braking on the outside wheels as you describe would work to straighten things up rather than regain traction.

Makes sense about the VSC. Ill read up on that thread and see if that could be the source.

Tires are brand new so I can eliminate that one.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Ill get back when I try that and let ya know if that worked.
 
Have a ZPC (Zero Point Calibration) done, it should eliminate or at the very least reduce the likelyhood the VSC will kick in. It' something that gets overlooked when upsizing tires and lifting the vehicle, the sensor needs to be calibrated on a level surface to have a Zero to relate vehicle motion to.

I just bought a 2001 4runner which drives great until I took it up canyon roads with twisty turns. When transitioning from turn to turn, (right-left, left-right) my traction control starts beeping although I have full traction, then it locks up my front brakes (more heavily on the right).

This is dangerous and probably shouldn't drive until I find a fix, but I will be moving soon and need the car. Thinking of doing the andy-mod without a switch until I can get one. Essentially just cut the wire and leave traction control off. Will this prevent my traction control from locking up the brakes?

Will also try zero point callibration and see if that works

4th gens have a connector to the wheel speed sensor just inside the wheel well in the engine bay that you can unplug to disable all these systems. Might try looking for this before cutting wires in your 3rd gen. It does throw a lot of dash lights so it may not be a good long term fix.
 
Multiple ZPCs did not fix this for me. On left turns sometimes VSC engages and it makes it very hard to maintain my lane especially in the mountains.
