Traction control blues

Ok so today im in some wet deep white stuff and in 4x4 diff unlocked and the trac-control would kick in and I think I was worse off when it would kick in ?? In deep wet snow you would want the tires to spin somewhat so they will clear out but the darn thing would not let me spin the treds. I had to put in low and get on the gas to get out.

Is it just me or do we need a switch to shut off the trac-control ?

By the way does trac-control work in low range as well ??

Other than that I would like to say that this is the best 4x4 I have driven in the white stuff .......... I may add that the tires im running also help

There is a little button to the left of the dash, it is to lock the diff. It disables VSC and IMO is ALOT better, but DO NOT engage it while turning, I've made that mistake twice already. There is talking of doing a switch, but you have to shut the car off to have the lights go off. You will see what I am talking about in THIS thread.

I've bitched about that a few times on here too. I dont like it for alot of situations.

Im personally let it do its thing for normal driving in wet or light snow. Other than that in snow covered roads I just drive with it locked in . As long as there is snow covering the road it will not hurt anything.

Be careful the VSC / traction control can be VERY dangerous when pulling out into traffic when the roads are snow covered , as the power will shut down and leave you sitting with traffic gaining on your butt in slick conditions.

VSC can be a deadly feature on this vehicle if you don't know how to get around it. I think its a poor design feature. If its slippery lock the diff. !!!

Im with you on this one I was pulling out into trafic the other day in some wet snow and I felt like I was in a time warp .... Even with my foot on the go pedal it would not move fast at all. I know for a fact in that if I could have spun the tires they would have broke free and I would have moved on out. But in this case I had to slam on the brakes and hold. Next time im going to lock that ctr. diff and try it!
