Traction control not working

I suspect that if you have your foot on the brake (and the gas) it disables some of the traction aids, but I haven't tried it again to confirm. I was having a problem getting ATRAC to work starting on a steep off road hill if I got on the gas before letting off the brake.
I know it will reduce throttle to keep the engine speed low enough that it can control wheel spin with the brakes. If you floor it, it might shut off. But I've never hear anyone say that happens. I'm not sure- just speculating.
Maybe the center diff is stuck locked and the center diff light is burned out or not working? That doesn't seem very likely.
Maybe try rebooting it: disconnect the battery for a while (at least 30 min, I think) and see if that fixes things.

I'lll try the battery tomorrow. No burnt out lights on dash.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. My 2008 has the same problem no lights on for abs trac or anything. The only time my auto lsd works is if I disconnect the battery and reconnect it the auto lsd works until I shut the car off again. Then the switch stops working? Is this a common issue?

Please forgive me for my general answer because I am still working this out and I can't specifically answer your questions. You can start by eliminating your problems by checking the simple things first. I would check the fuses first that is connected to your components. Then I would disconnect the power. I'm not sure if there is a specific amount of time that it would need to be disconnected for your SUV's system to completely power off and reset. Once, you've reconnected it you will need to start the vehicle put it in drive and as you begin driving you normally would hear clicking coming from under your dash. That is your signal that traction control is operational. Then test your traction control to see if it will work. If that doesn't work, then the next step would be to do a Zero Point Calibration (ZPC). I don't think you will have to a dealership to get it calibrated. There is a video on YouTube that helps you perform a ZPC from home. I have not tried it myself but it is my next step. Please keep up with this thread and notify us if this method works, and I will do the same.
