Traction Control when shifting into Drive???

Hey folks. Sometimes when i am rolling in reverse and shift into drive my traction control light comes on and the brake pedal stiffens up. This only happens on occasion and only when i am still slightly rolling backwards while shifting into drive. Is this typical or do I have some transmission/traction control issue?

Once the lever hits the D position the HAC thinks you're rolling backwards and activates. That's my guess... The nanny feature to prevent inadvertant rolling back is kicking in. IMHO in our T4R's it has little value. In a stick shift T4R, Prado, Hilux Surf etc it would be awesome!

Ah, that makes sense. Just kind of caught me off guard...thanks for the explanation.

okay I've often been puzzled about this..

sometimes when I drive up our driveway, I let it coast "UP" (incline) until it reaches the flat driveway...sometimes it doesn't have enough momentum so it catches the garage lip and I have to hit the accelerate a bit...it starts to beep at me and the VSC kicks in...

I guess this totally explains it. Annoying if you ask me!
