well technically you can still get that perfection, its called a Lexus GX460

well the v8 has more towing and its only 1-2 mpg typically less than the v6 4runner.

you get the best mechanical parts of the TE and the LE in one package. that is what most want. That is what I would have liked, but the biggest part is the price of a new GX460 compared to the 4Runner.

even a nice 1-2yr old used gx460 goes for 45-50k which still costs more than a fully loaded LE.

and to add, I rarely use the rear window down, barn door is good and bad, depending on what you use it for, for off roading, great place to mount the spare instead of under. place spare fuel cells underneath so you keep the CoG low.

I loved the roll down window controlled by the fob. I tote a gym bag and laptop bag every day, so it's easier to hit the button on the fob and then throw the bags in the back, especially with my narrow garage and my narrow spaces at work. Since I got the 2014 LE, pressing the button on the tailgate is annoying, but not too bad. Looking for a hack with the fob.

My wife wanted a RDX or MDX, it wasnt until I showed her the Limited that she finally agreed with me that the 4runner was the way to go. Its funny how women obsess over a particular feature - for me my wife NEEDED heated seats and the smart key/push button start....:frusty:

And here I thought my wife was obsessing just for the Leather and Heated seats! Glad she didn't remember the Limited had a push button start!

Yeah... I have the same problem. The wife gets the 4Runner and I get the OLD car as always. I guess I will have to live with the running boards while the kids are little. I started to remove them the first weekend I had available and I got the "What are you doing?" speech. Looks like the wife likes the fact she doesn't have to help the oldest get in the car anymore. Just waiting until the New wears off and she wants the next car to free up the Runner for me.

Sounds like she can't drive and does not know how to take care of a vehicle. 3rd row seats in a midsize SUV are useless and cruel to put a kid in. Get her a used $10,000 Sienna she can wreck, trash etc. At least the kids will be comfortable. People pop out kids but are more concerned with their own image over kids comfort. :usa2:

Congrats, that sounds like a tricked out mustang....a status update 2.5 years later to say you now have a mustang in a 4runner forum is odd, but glad you're liking the mustang. I mean nobody has probably looked at this thread since 2014...

One of the funnest roads in the world. I was there 2 days ago on my motorcycle. Nice car too!
