Trading 4runner for a Raptor

I'm in your exact same predicament. Upsizing my boat to a Whaler 270 Dauntless. Decided i like boating over mods to the 4R, which is disappointing considering i just supercharged mine, upgraded suspension and put in a new stereo.
Out of curiosity what brand is your bay boat? Where do you generally operate it? I'd look hard at a V8 Grand Cherokee. Less cumbersome, and it tows like a beast, up to 7400 lbs. Other things to consider are the Yukon Denali, Tahoe, or the Sequoia. Denali is the direction im headed, yo can still do some mods to make them look less domesticated, and they tow up to ~8700, and have air ride/auto level (as does the cherokee)

A good friend of mine had a brand new fully loaded raptor, every option possible. Transmission blew apart with 8k miles on it. Ford fixed it and then gave him the 5 year extended warranty for the troubles. Fast forward to 11k miles we take it from Austin, TX to Colorado for our 2018 elk hunt. Loaded up with 3 guys and ~500lbs of gear transmission starts slipping and down shifting like crazy driving on flat pavement around 70mph as we are 1.5 hours outside of Lubbock. No way this POS is going to make it to Colorado let alone go up the mountain roads once we get there. Long story short he gets on the phone and we end up trading it in on the spot at a Toyota dealership for a new 2019 Platinum Tundra with the dealership cutting him a nice check for the trade in. He is finalizing the paperwork and my other friend and myself are in the parking lot swapping coolers, guns, and hunting gear from the Raptor to the Tundra. In and out in 1.5 hours (including time for lunch) then back on the road. I felt a little bad bottoming out the running boards of a new Tundra with 700+ miles on it but he didn't mind as he wasn't going to keep them. 1 month later he ripped out the stock suspension and put all Kings in there and was still much cheaper then a Raptor and now has the reliability to boot.
I've got pictures of the swap out at the Toyota dealership if you want me to upload them as proof. Hope it helps but just be careful on going with Ford. Sometimes all of those bells and whistles aren't worth it when the truck leaves you stranded when you really need it.

Since you have the Runner Supercharged doesn't it tow better and down shift less? I'm thinking to supercharge for towing purposes and highway cursing...thoughts? I won't be towing more than 5000 lbs.
5000lbs with the 4Runner is brutal, I can't stand it with 2500lbs.

Haha that is an amazing story. Probably not so funny when it happened at the moment but I'm sure that's one you look back and giggle about.

Its overall manners are vastly improved in every category, and although I supercharged it after selling the boat it would've been a welcome improvement. Id just caution that putting more power in the vehicle will ultimately increase wear on the driveline, especially when towing.
