Trail - loose rear view mirrow bracket

I have a loose rear view mirror, it's not the friction joint but the bracket attached to the glass. I told the dealer this before i purchased and he said he checked the other 4r and they are all the same (hmm...). I really wanted the vehicle so i let it pass. It hasn't been a bother and doesn't shake on the road but it was just a reminder recently when i reached up to adjust the mirror and had to fight against the "play" between the bracket and glass plus the friction joint to get the right position.

Anyone else with a loose bracket? I might try to detach it to see what needs to be done to tighten it up but want to be careful since there are wires for the camera and Dims. Thanks.

Mine was loose too.(2010 Trail edition) On mine, the nut that attaches the mirror to the bracket was loose. I think it is a star nut. The bracket itself was tight though.

My mirror is quite tight, when I need to adjust it I have to do it with both hands.

Yes the pivot joint is tight. I was referring to the bracket or the part that is attached to the glass. It's loose and moves side to side.

Ok, I will try to remove the plastic cover to see if I can get to the nut. Maybe I just need to tighten it. Thanks.
