Been looking into a cheap awning system and i think i can rig this up to work with our roof rack. What do you guys think? I think its worth a try.

I think you can make that yourself for half the price - an 8x10 tarp, a pair of adjustable poles, a little paracord and a couple stakes. Thirty bucks, tops.

Thats what ive been doing, just looking for cheap/strong adjustable poles. I came across this on amazon and it sparked my interest.

Thats exactly the route i was avoiding. Im not interested in dropping $400+ for an awning!
