Trail Silver Valance!

I dont think that has anything to do with it... I really think it is just for looks and wouldnt with stand anything more than a minor rub. has nothing to do with model line there are as many SR5s putting in work on the trails.

You think every car on the road should look exactly the same? That is why there are different models. I like the look of the trail and you like the look of the SR5. That bumper cover is for looks only. However if it did get bashed, it's just a small piece of plastic that can be replaced. Sacrificial cladding if you will.

Easy to paint Silver Valance

Silver Valance, wasn't he a villain in the Lone Ranger TV series?

I agree. The bumper valance is easier and less expensive to replace or paint than the entire front end of an SR5 or Limited bumper. If it does get scratched it can be painted the same silver color or just painted black. As I said above, I do wish it were a more durable aluminum or steel plate, but that would cost substantially more to produce.

I like the contrast of the silver bumper valance with my MGM body color.

I think you are reading to much into so let me spell it out potato head style for you.... Its fuggin ugly and serves no purpose beyond looks. That is exactly what I meant, nothing more, nothing less. NO I dont think every vehicle should look the same I just think that plastic hunk of shit serves no value.... trackin?

Well I disagree with you...I do not think the Valance is ugly or I do not think it a hunk of shit.....I think it looks better in black with a white exterior. Settle down you have an SR5 which is the less expensive model. They have to make different model for different taste and different budget :flamethrwoer2::argue::jump:

I like the bumper cover .. makes a nice place to hang my required front tag, and I'm leaving mine silver .. so there!

thats the beauty we can have different opinions, I aint mad at ya. I have more than enough budget to buy a trail or Pro or Limited or GX.... I made an educated decision to buy an SR5 in order to have a clean slate an ability to go aftermarket items instead of factory.... because I am not afraid of turning a wrench

I like the way it looks, and I couldn't give a shit what your opinion is. I like it. Toyota makes different looking vehicles for people that like different looks. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Your opinion isn't the only valid one on earth bud. :focus:

whats with all the ass hurt I am not asking you to agree... I said it looks like cheap plastic shit. I too give zero shits what you think..... all good now?

I think the SR5 looks like a cheap POS that somebody has when they can't afford a TE..... Does that feel nice?

All I was saying in the original post is that Toyota builds different looks to please different people like you and I. I wasn't trying to explain why you should like it or why it was "better". Apparently there are a few that agree that it serves at least an aesthetic purpose and some would say it's good to bang up that little piece of trim rather than an entire nose assembly like the SR5.

BTW... KDSS RULES! :yo: lol

The SR5 looks just like your TE minus plastic shit and fake hood scoops I could buy my SR5 and your Wife's TE if I wanted to. Chose the SR5 because I didnt want all the OEM BS on the TE..... and KDSS rules.... on a Lexus LOL

Valance attachment

Did you have to take the Valance off to apply the wrap..if so what is holding it screws or clips. I like to see how its taken off if someone has a pictures or videos. :reddance::grouphug::grouphug:

I have seen photos of this here. I forget how it's attached to the front fender. Keep looking. Maybe you'll find a thread on this.

I took the valence off and then applied it.

It's held on by a bunch of clips that you can access without taking the front bumper off. I think there are 13 of them but I can't remember. I haven't done my rear valence yet because you have to take that bumper off to reach the clips.

There are threads on here that show you where all the clips are, you just need to search for " removing the bumper valence"

Got a quote for 3M Wrap in black satin for $300 front and back valance. Roof rack was $150 since its hard to do....wonder if its cheaper to buy the TRD valance and install them. What you guys think of the $300 price?:help::violin:
