Trail vs Limited clearance?

Sorry if this had been addressed before, but I couldn't find it. I'm new to the forum. Just bought a '11 4Runner limited. In Toyota brochures and materials, Toyota shows the Trail as having higher clearance than the Limited (9.0" vs 9.6"), despite having the same tire height. How do they do that? Can the limited be changed to match the trails ride height? I'm not unfamiliar with lifts (I've lifted my Tundra), but I'm wondering how Toyota does it at the factory and if that can be replicated?

You are looking at 4WD vs 2WD - ALL 4WD are 9.6", even the LE. (The LE 2WD is 9.0")

You're right. But the approach/departure angle is still different. It is 33/26 for the Trail and 25/24 for Ltd 4x4. Why is that?

The angles are greater on the Trail due to the different bumper facias. The Trail's have less material on the bottom edges than the Limited/SR5's.

If you do a search, I believe that Harper7 measured the a/d angle on both, and the rear is the same for TE and LTD/SR5, if measured at the hitch which is the lowest departure point. If you take the front air dam off of the LTD/SR5 the front approach is the same as the TE.
