Trailer Hitch Electronics Inconvenient

Has anyone else noticed how painful it is to hook up a trailer to the 5th gen 4Runner? I am not the youngest guy around, and it hurts my knees to have to crawl under the backend to plug in the trailer lights. Can that be moved to somewhere closer to the hitch?

Agree, it's a PITA to crawl under there to hook up the harness. Try doing it in the dark without a flashlight. Even more fun in winter, without gloves.
I guess the reason it's tucked away in the hinterland is to avoid getting scraped off on steep hill climbs. I'm also surprised to see hanging chain for a the spare tire just dangling there.

I kinds like it since it keeps the back end clean. I don't need to crawl under there, I just put my hand under and plug it in by feel.

Then again, I rarely use it.

I'm fighting age and gravity...lol

I'm gonna take a mirror and lay it on the ground when I finish the new trailer build.

Obviosly someone who never had to plug it in on a regular basis designed it...what a dumbass :bash:
